El gasto público en pensiones en los principales países de la OCDE
Sus efectos sobre la oferta de trabajo
Social Sciences
The main aim of this research is the analysis of the consequences generated by public pension benefits on job offers, and in particular on the labor effort of older people and the availability to work of those who are still active. The study concludes that the level of public pension benefits is a factor that explains international differences in the rate of employment participation of people who are over the age of 65. It also demonstrates that the relationship between the public pension measures and the number of hours worked per week may be different in the international comparison of the labor supply equation for active people.
