Knowledge of the stock of capital today constitutes an essential factor for assessing the bases sustaining a country’s economy. The size and quality of public infrastructures, the distribution by sector of private capital and the relationship between available capital and job creation are therefore matters that are not sufficiently quantified within the framework of the Spanish economy, and this information is being made public for the first time in this research. The study offers data on twenty-three private productive sectors and eight different functions of public capital, broken down by autonomous regions. The period covered is 1964-1991.
