This volume contains new estimates of the capital stock and services in the Spanish economy for the period 1964-2002, and marks a major innovation in the joint research conducted in this area for over a decade by the BBVA Foundation and Ivie. It has been prepared in accordance with the latest methodological recommendations of the OECD, which allow the accumulation of capital to be viewed not just from a sectoral perspective but with reference to the actual assets invested in (housing, other construction, machinery, communications, hardware, software, etc.).

This enlarged documentary base sets traditional series of gross and net capital against others corresponding to capital services or what is known as productive capital.
