The government is active in numerous ways in the economic field, and many of its other actions also have an impact on the activity of the main actors in the economy (consumers and businesses). This book includes the opinions of a number of prestigious Spanish economists on how the government acts as an economic agent. The core of the study is an attempt to determine whether the government plays its role in the economy correctly, and to point to where and why it does not, as well as providing recommendations for improving its actions and possibly refocusing some of its functions towards the private sector.
