Los albores de un nuevo renacimiento
The lack of jobs and their precarious nature, the impoverishment of an increasingly large minority, and the aging of the population, are all matters of concern to Europeans today. These problems are among those examined at the conference commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Club of Rome, held in Hanover in December 1993, at which the BBV Foundation collaborated with its own working group. The debate also raises the question reassessing democracy and improving the systems of government. As indicated in the closing Declaration to the event, the continent is going through a period in its history in which it has the opportunity to make use of its forces for cohesion to lay the foundations for a second Renaissance.
