Second Canvas Thyssen

Second Canvas Thyssen is a tool for getting closer to the secrets of the Thyssen-Bornemisza museum and viewing its masterpieces like never before, in super high resolution.

You can explore, interact, learn from stories told by Thyssen experts or choose a favorite detail and share it on social media, including the option of hooking it up to your TV screen at home or at school.

Second Canvas Thyssen allows you to explore some of the jewels in the museum’s collection, including paintings by Caravaggio, Carpaccio, Van Gogh, Kandinsky… with the highest quality and resolution. Also included are 20 additional pieces in an alternative itinerary that provides context to the works.

The application is the result of a collaboration between the BBVA Foundation and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum. The Program of Applications, Digital Publications and Educational Knowledge is a vehicle for the development of multimedia publications that offer the public new experiences, virtual and live, in connection with works and artists from the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum collections, along with a range of educational features and information and communication channels between the museum and its visitors.
